I got the same thing, the fast busy signal. Makes you wonder how these people make phone calls, doesn't it?

Sounds like the infamous Route 66 Fundings pre India calls.

When Route66 use to call me, it never showed up with a number, I don't believe. It was always unknown caller and once in a while they left a message, but most of the time they didn't. Now I have gotten calls from places where they call out from one number but I cannot call them back on the same number and get that same fast busy signal.

I am telling you - these calls are coming from a prison somewhere! That is the only place that you can make a call out but not receive any in coming calls! There was a story a few years back on 20/20 about many companies using inmates for calling customers and for taking orders for airline tickets and catalog companies. Boy did they get into trouble about this - ther was quite abit of identity theaft and theft of cc info. But it wouldn't surprise me if inmates weren't being used again - cheap labor!

Oh my gosh!!! :shock: That is a scarey thought! I guess I missed this story. Makes one even a little more leary about giving out any information to strangers!!! Maybe this is where all the irate collection agents are and why they are not worried about reprocussions!

I saw that as well...it is crazy to think that some inmate somewhere has all my personal information...
