Can someone please provide me with what they know about this company and if they have had experiences with them. I know they are based out of Vancouver.

Thanks.

Just started getting calls and received two letters the same day from them stating who they are collecting for and the amount, and that I am to call them to arrange payment options - I am in Canada. I don't agree with the amount.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated? Are they hard to deal with?

Thanks for replying.

Read the FDCPA laws on collections in the US. Every collector must abide by the laws. I am not confirmed if the same thing applies in Canada. You must check with the law enforcement agencies there. Since you don't agree with the details given by the collector, write a dispute letter to their mailing address and get the information corrected. You may refuse to pay for a while until the information is given to you correctly. Make sure that you send the letter CMRRR to have a proof of your actions.

This company has sent me a letter stating that I have two options - they can take further action against me or work something out with them.

What does further action mean???? How can I be sure they will apply my money to the appropriate company and that they were actually "hired" to collect on their behalf?

If I am a US permanent resident - but a Canadian citizen - can they come after me for a loan in the US? Or no - I would only have bad credit in Canada? Also, could they take legal action against me in US? In Canada? Would Canada have JX so I would have to fly out there? Please let me know ASAP - as they did have the wrong address for me so my (large sum) of student loan has gone into default status & they are constantly calling & intimidating me. Thank you in advance.
