I posted on the other one about the 704 number. It is coming up as Applied Financial, and I am not sure what type of company they are..

They want your money! They are not polite at all and try to get you to give them checking account information. Smartass remarks to me when I would not do that.

They called me tonight, and when I said that I was on the "do not call" list, he apologized and hung up.

The company is Allied Interstate. They are a debt collection agency. The problem is that they will call everyone in the phone book with the same last name as the person they are looking for. Being on the "do not call" list doesn't matter, because they can claim they have an on-going business relationship with you. The only way to take these guys down is if enough complaints against them get filed with the Federal Trade Commission. Report their harassment to the ftc website. I cannot enter the link here, not allowed, but it is world wide web, the intials, and a dot gov.
