Looking for Info on United Recovery Systems

Receiving phone calls from them but they won't say who they're reprsenting nor give me an address so that I can send a "Cease & Desist". Can't find anything on-line other then complaints about them. Does anyone have an address and/or info? They are in Houston apparently and the phone number is 800-326-3446. Hearing from someone named Fred Truex(sp?). He has even gone so far as to call my mother and I haven't lived in her house in over 20 years!

Thanks!

A cease and desist letter will pass the debt from one company to another. Send a debt validation letter to know about their collection attempt. They will be able to give you the details if they have genuine info. Mention in the letter that you are applying a cease and desist communication and all contacts with you to be done in writing only. This way, you will be in touch if they are calling on genuine reasons and you will also prove in the letter your interests in paying the debt if it's valid.

I work for U.R.S. Do yourself a favor and keep regular contact with the collector. We do NOT buy the accounts from creditors. The debts are fresh and the credit cards salvageable, we work on a contractual basis with Heavy hitters like AmEx, Cap1, USBank, USAA, And a crapload of Citibank Stuff. We can validate the debt beautifully and perfectly if you request it. If you intend on paying said bill, the U.R.S. collector on your tail is your best bet.

To the above: You are a liar. URS are harassing my wife and will never get anywhere. Do yourself a favor and FO. I am filing the paper work to stop you and I laugh in your face at all of your efforts.

TO JPSMITH03....having just had a taste of URS customer service, I can truly say that your statement is a load of BS!! Not sure which is worse so far...GC services (who orginially had the account) or URS. So far, the "account manager" has been way off the scale of nice. She's not negotiating for me to pay off this debt...she is negotiating to get herself a beautiful pat on the back for pulling in some cash. She would care less to help me. I too am on in the process of getting the calls and harrassment to stop. A word of advice, if you work for a collection agency, don't post anything...it just makes you look even worse!!

To Anonymous: I'm glad you're impressed. Please do yourself a favor and keep your comments to yourself if you don't know the variety of situations people are in that they get to this point. You seem to be one of the few almighty people who have the world by the balls and have all the answers. You're a great judge.....not.

"Fred Truex" has called my brother, my neighbor, my sister-in-law & my father-in-law. None of these people are on any of my credit applications. While I understand the need to make good on debts, these tactics cannot possibly be legal. I'm not calling him back & trying to deal directly with the creditor so as not to honor this quasi-legal approach by making it effective.

Don't trust ANY debt collection agency, especially United Recovery Systems, LP. These clowns will try to trick you out of money you do not have. Here's the catch; when a bank or agency has delinquent card holder/borrowers, they pad this debt balance as much as they can before they sell it to some random debt collection agency. The agency or bank pockets a hefty sum and the collection agency spends years trying to collect on this debt, if they don't get sued first, that is.
