can not locate company

Hi,

I get emails from westbury ventures stating that I have a debt with them from 2006 which I find hard to believe. I have asked them for a document proving that I have a pay day loan debt and all they do is demand money and threaten me which I remind them not to due to the fact that is is illegal under the fair debt collections act. I am just wondering how can I get them off my back because aruging with them is getting old and tacky. I have told them that I would be contacting my state AG and they are so cocky that they don't even care. So, I have to wonder if they are really a legit company....

Maggie thats why you have to actually report it and not just threaten them.

Oh I already did. And my attorney. I will not send a penny to them. If this was a real debt, why hound me two years later?

These guys contacted me twice. The first time was in August of 2007 for payment on a loan. The man's name was Robert Jones. He told me if i payed $390 then the debt would be cleared and i wouldn't owe them anymore money. So i sent in the money in two payments through moneygram. Then in mid feb of 2008 they called me up again and told me that the money i payed them was only applied towards the loan and there was no record of the settlement. She threatened me with fraud and fcc nonsense and after an hour of arguing i set up another payment schedule and had her e-mail me something along the lines of the payment schedule. So i made my final payment on Feb 29th and e-mailed the reference number into her since they had apparently already closed for the night. Today i checked my voicemail on my cel phone and another woman from westbury ventures is saying that they are now going to escalate my case and i need to contact them. what do i do? The original loan amount was for $300.
