Well, its normal for the creditor to contact the co-signer for the loan payment even without contacting the debtor first.

It may depend on how late she was on the payment. If it is only one missing payment and has been paid off, the impact can be minor.

I know from my experiences they will call the co-signer before it goes past 30 days sometimes with a "courtesy" call, pretty much to get the co-signer to either get on your ass or for them to get ready to pay it. Its not a bad jester, just sucks when it happens.

i think it's normal for her uncle to be upset..her uncle agreed to be her co-signor because he trusted her niece to be responsible about the payment.. but if they talked about what happen and your girlfriend apologize for what had happened, everything will turn out fine..:)
