Titan Group LLC

I got a call from a guy today, named harvey from spillman and spillman. They said they got my file from Titan Group LLC, a payday loan that ive defaulted on 2 months ago. He said he was sending a warrant for me to be picked up at work tomarrow. I never raised my voice once, but at first he was nice with me because I said I'd try and get the money. After letting my daughters dad know about the call... (his dad is attorney, and he is in law school) He said that there is SO WAY that there is any truth to this. Ask them to fax a copy of the information they have. I called and asked... and then he got rude, calling me a loser and such. My daughters dad spoke with him, and they arnt even a law office. He said they were "mediators" said that for a warrant even to be placed, a judge needs to sign it.
I obviously didnt default on purpose... I had my car break down and couldnt make ends meet. Of course this is my own fault... but I wanted to know if anyone had any info on this spillman group? Or had this problem with Titan group? I cant even find a phone number for them.
My loan was for $200, and they wanted me to pay $430 and change today.
THANKS!

He also said they were getting the media involved because they wanted to make an example out of me. they said I was going to be arrested because I had more than one outstanding payday loan, and they could charge me with wire fraud. (I have 3 outstanding. All 200.)
Hopefully those smug and abusive people will make an example out of themselves just as the collectors I saw in a video I watched not long ago.

I think, it was on Dateline if I recall correctly. They were interviewing debt collectors about how they operate and there were a group of young debt collectors who had not been doing the job too long maybe a couple of months and they were showing off for the reporter interviewing them, being arrogant and smug and condescending about the people they were calling.

They were bragging about the kind of things they do to "get to people". One in particular was bragging about what he likes to do best is to get the phone number of the debtor's boss and call him at night about the debtor, so that its not bad enough to annoy the debtor but they annoy his boss too, which could cause the debtor to lose his job. But it is a message, I guess, and a way to turn up the heat and "make" people pay out of intimidation.

I loved it though because at the end of the film it was disclosed that all those smug young collectors who were so cocky about their tricks got fired. They got fired because they were not as smart as they thought in exposing their underhanded methods to the tv crew because when THEIR employer got wind of it of course their employer felt the need to distance themselves from what they were doing and so in the end it was poetic justice. THEY got fired by, the same ones bragging about calling the debtor's employer because their employer fired them in the same way. Sometimes I like the way karma works! :p

I really enjoyed reading that. A pity everything can't be so satisfying to read.

when u borrow money...u have to pay it back...u should b arrested if you dont...its stealing...
Oh, thanks for making my point, you're the kind of self-righteous jerk likely to shoot yourself in the foot by your cocky attitude.

I don't think there are many people here who aren't aware of the responsibility for repaying debts. But just because someone is accused of owing money does not make it so. And sometimes people find themselves struggling and so it isn't that they don't want to pay.

People like you are really asking to take a fall yourself. I'd like to be around if you happen to fall on hard times, and it can happen to anyone, I'd like to hear the different tune you'd be singing then.

Fortunately, you don't make the laws and so no one is going to jail no matter how much it would please someone like you.

I called Titan's number 1-877-891-9021 and they also told me that they don't have an address. Could anyone please provided that informations for Titan Group LLC address.

Last week also I called that number and was given a number with no zip code. The Rep insisted that their address has no zip code because it was foreign?. Anyway. I sent the address a letter, it came back invalid address. .

Please could someone provide an address for Titan Group LLC. Thank you!

What address did you use that was returned to you undeliverable?

Titan
Group, LLC
298 Lake Markham Rd
Sanford, FL 32771

It appears to be a single family dwelling.

Everyone has an address, just matters if they want to share it with you.

What is up? I'm not sure what the circumstances are but more explanation why you want to contact someone who doesn't want you to write to/about them????

Have they sued you?

Also at that address:

Companies at this address:

I have recently been contacted by a debt collection agency that just gives its name as titan for a PDL from cashnetusa.com. I know I do owe that money and I am willing to pay them but should I? These people have called me at home and work saying that papers will be served to me at work, called it a courtesy call. Are these guys a legit debt collector because I seriously cannot stand these people calling me and getting me worried about having to go to court. I have already paid them 40 so far but I planned to pay them the remaining 310 tomorrow and they said I will be paid up then. I don't know if I should pay it and hope that is the end of it or if by paying it would make no difference to these people. I do not want them to come after me for more money. Any advice someone could give would be much appreciated.

you don't pay this piece of illegal trash another dime.if they are legit(which they are not)then they wouldn't be illegaly threatening you.they would send a collection letter.in fact see if you can get the 40.00 back as again nothing legit about this scam, and by paying them they will call again with some BS about you owing more.to close this is a scam, and not only don't pay them report them.file a police report as they broke the law with their threat.then when they call your work hang up.again try to get the 40.00 back from whatever method you used.if you gave a debit card cancel it.if you gave a cc cancel it as well.get new cards.just don't pay them another dime as they are not legit by any stretch.

I had the same thing from this company but mine was 200.00 and every 30 days they would take 60.00 out of my account. I thought it was going to pay towards the balance but it ended up being just a refinance fee. I ended up paying over 300.00 and something dollars for a loan that should have only been paid back at 260. I also have over draft fees from them doing this. IT ended up being over 500.00 dollars paid out for a 200 loan. I have had 4 different companies call me with these threats. I am in Nc, and this was done over internet! What can happen?

My X-husband of 9 years received a phone call today from a man named David Briggs from a group named Titan Group. This man was looking for my younger brother who lives in a totally different state. My x-husband has his father's old phone number and it has been the same number for probably 40 years& it is listed. When we got divorced I took My maiden name back. I called my brother asking him what this is all about because the guy said he's trying to serve a summons and if he doesn't meet up with my brother then there will be a warrant issued and he left a case number. I've been on this computer all night looking up every court in the area using the case # this man provided. And nothing came up. So I googled the name & this is where it has brought me! Reading your story Anonymous sounds like just like the one I was told today, even though my brother says he doesn't owe anyone anything. I will call tomorrow and speak to the man. I just want to thank you for posting your question because now I'm prepared for tomorrow. Thank you for all the advice.

That number is 1-866-278-0797. I hope this will help you & good luck to everyone dealing with these people. I don't understand why they haven't been shut down or there haven't been any charges filed against this "SO CALLED COLLECTIONS/SCAMS.

Well, after taking out a loan for 200, we refinanced and then faxed them in writing instructions to pay off in full, as the instructions state. It took weeks and weeks and still they never took the money out of our account to pay this loan off. I have received at least 3 voicemails on my phone (indian accents of some sort with american names??? LIARS) Anyhow, they tell me I am being sued for charges due to NOT paying my loan. And 1 included fraud. They wanted me to pay almost $1000 due to "interest" and "penalties" and what not. Whatever. I attempted to pay the loan off and it shouldn't be my problem that someone there made a mistake. Then when I got even more irate and made it clear how I did NOTHING wrong he said he needed me to hold on so he could speak to "his attorney" LOL who just happened to be sitting right next to him????? They weren't speaking ENGLISH!!!! Then the amount went down to 645, and i stood my ground and said I'm not paying more than what my loan was supposed to be (200). He said I had to pay it today and only credit card/debit card. hmmmm. Went home on my lunch break checked my bank statement and Titan Group, LLC. had taken $200 from my bank account on 6/3/11. DO NOT TRUST THEM, they are trying some sort of scam. These things are bad news anyways. Stay away!

I received a letter today from Lukehart & Associates, P.C. According to this letter, my account has been referred to them for collection of $471.78. The letter reads that the original creditor is Titan Group, LLC. It further reads that their client (Titan Group LLC) indicates that they have a valid claim against me which is seriously delinquent. The problem is, I paid this debt back in January of this year. I have a letter proving that the debt is paid in full. Also, after I paid the debt, the harrassing phone calls stopped. Then, all of a sudden, they started again in April. First my cell phone, then my job. When I told the foreign speaking "officer" what bus stop to get off at, he left me alone. Now, I get this letter.

I made a mistake of borrowing money from this company. My loan is 300 and For 4 months now they have been taking away $90 bi-weekly. I have been trying to contact them to pay the principal but they are not answering they keep forwarding me they say to the right department and end up hanging up the call.
I live in Maryland, I am planning to close my bank account but I am afraid from what I have read from forums they will contact your employer and harass you Im very anxious about impending threats I am willing to pay the amount but I really do not know what's the right thing to do because they are not accepting the money.

They are a scam, they called me today at work! Asking to verify my information to finish processing my loan for $300. I've never-ever applied for anything like that in my life. I researched Titan and they're a payday loan company, which I've never reached out to. This was the convo:

Rep: I'm just processing your app and need to verify your information for security
Me: I've never applied for anything like this, who are you
Rep: We process loans for nine 3rd party companies and I don't get all your personal info
Me: That's really shady! You don't know who you're processing info for, who's using my information fraudulently
Rep: you can contact us about concerns 877-891-9021 and I'll immediately withdrawl your application

My question is, how the hell did someone get my work number! I posted this on another thread, spread the word and hopefully these people will get caught. Pathetic people now a days.
