You can try to call them back and get as much details about the debt as possible. Oh, save those messages because since they have said you are going to be served, that means they have filed a lawsuit..if they did not then they are lying and trying to scare you which is against the law for them to do.
Do no admit to the debt. Explain to them you have no idea what they are talking about. Ask them:
1. Ask them for the company name and mailing address. (If they balk at giving it to you remind them that by law they have to disclose this information.)
2. Do they currently own the debt or are they collecting for someone else? (If they are collecting for someone else get that contact info)
3. Who is the original creditor?
4. What is the account number?
5. When was this account opened?
6. When was this account defaulted?
They will likely try to talk around you or not answer these questions. At least try to get an address out of them. Then tell them that by law they have 5 days to send you a letter with the details of the debt. Tell them you will have nothing to do with them until you have this information which by law you are entitled to.
If you can, record the call....depending on your state you may be able to tape without informing them; this is called one-party. If you live in a two-party state then you have to inform them of the recording, but it also serves as a great way to get them off the phone quickly.
Also check your credit reports to see if they are reporting, this is also a good way to get the information as well. Then you send a debt validation letter.
Re: Shana Myers
I've found their mailing address on their website, which has very little information. The phone numbers are cell phone numbers. I'm sending them a letter and reporting them to the BBB. I figure they must be new because the BBB doesn't have them listed yet. They claim they sent me a letter but I have received nothing from them. The debt validation letter is going out today via Certified Mail.

The previous post was from me responding to Goldenblast. Here is their website:

Since they don't have an "800" number and are using cell phones, I think these people are under the radar of the authorities. Besides the BBB, I will contact the FTC and NY Attorney General's office. It seems to be a one or two person operation working from their homes and not an actual office. The address shown on the website is a post office box. There is also an e-mail address, but I'll send the debt validation letter first before sending an e-mail. I don't want to suddenly be inundated with junk mail.

I sent it yesterday, with CC's to the BBB, FTC, and NY State Attorney General's office. I don't think these people are licensed to do business in NY or anywhere else. I was hoping to find a fax number for them, but no such luck. If they are using cell phones and have a post office box, they sound like a real "fly by night" operation. I'm surprised they have a website.
FTC not T&C
It's the Federal Trade Commission. You file a report with them when a company is phishy/phoney/full of you know what.

Shana Myers' person called my office again twice today. Once she got put to voicemail and once I answered the phone but told them "she" was not in the office. They never say the name of the company they are calling from, but I found out the name from the caller ID on my home phone. I have reported them for making false statements, etc. I know they have not received my debt validation letter yet, because I'm tracking it on the USPS website and it has not gotten to NY from California yet.

Thanks, but this issue is closed.
After I filed complaints with the BBB and NY Attorney General's office the matter was resolved. Shana Myers admitted they couldn't provide proof of the debt and stopped contacting me.
address and phone number
Thats good news rebsoto. Now they are calling me though about something that was resolved last year and I feel that there's gonna be alot more people wondering about this company. I wanted to put out the information I found to help others.
With some more sleuthing today I found the physical address for the company and not just the website domain. Also found from the BBB that they are linked to a company called NCO Financial Systems Inc. from the 800 number.

I got this information from my Dept. of Commerce
