the legal department of National Processing....
However! Bryan Smith called my WORK today saying it was a legal matter I needed to call him back ASAP.
Does anyone know how to get rid of these guys posing as debt collectors?

From what I hear, there is nothing you really can do. People have complained to the FBI, attorney general and anyone else you can think of and it still happens.
Best I can say is just ignore them, do not talk to them and they will go away.

Well I'm fairly good at hanging up on these people. I'm only hoping they don't cause a lot of trouble at work.
the legal department of National Processing....
I have contacted my local police department and was advised to start with the FCC. After contacting them I was told to call the Federal Trade Commission at 877-382-4357. I was also told to call my phone company and the state Attorney Generals office. I am now on the phone with the Trade Commission. I strongy suggest that you follow any and all legal avenues to get this company to stop.

Thanks for the advice. Guess I know what I'm going to be doing on Monday.
National Processing Department
I got the same call over the weekend. They have all of my information. My SSN, address, employer and they even called and threatened my ex-wife and roommate claiming the same things. They emailed me a threatening letter stating they are going to "download" processing me for Violation of Banking Laws, and Check Fraud. I emailed them back telling them I want the name of the company they are representing or collecting for and I have heard nothing. Now when I call their number their mailbox is full and can not take messages. I have lost sleep over this. It is very scary. They claim if I pay $684 by Debit Card only then they will go away! However, their is no address for them, and their form is very generic. I'm going to contact the FCC and Federal Trade Commission today. Thank God I did not pay anything, I truly thought they were a scam. I did default on a payday loan but I contacted the company and they said they know nothing about this company and are willing to work with me directly. Thank You for posting on this site as I was almost ready to pay them to get them to stop their threats.
same problem
They must be on a rampage. I got these call back around early January. They were calling my cousin's phone. I called them back and was told I owed money to Crown Lending and that I was being sued for internet fraud. I told them I did not know who Crown Lending was so they should send me some information. I did not hear from them again. Suddenly, last Thursday this woman started calling and leaving messages that she was from the legal department of this company if I don't call back within 3 hours I would be in a lot of trouble. I called to tell them to stop calling or I will sue them for threatening me. The guy told me to do whatever the F... I want they will call as many times a day as they wish. Now they are calling my job. They have all my information. Fortunately, they have a bank account that is closed. Just ignore them, I wrote to the Federal Trade Commission, they only log your complaint. These guys have very thick indian accent. They use a different phone number all the time.
Idiots
These people are SO funny! They called me early in the morning, something a real bill collector would never do. When he said he was going to "download me" I asked him what county would he go through? After hemming and hawing he said that I only had 30 minutes to respond. After receiving this call from them I just knew something was funny so I asked for the name of the company and looked it up. After finding this website I knew just what to do. After telling them to go ahead with the lawsuit since its not a criminal matter, he (Eric Strong go figure) tried to shout me down and talk over me. I of course got louder and and told him that I've already contacted the FBI FTC etc and this is actually what he did: he proceeded to go LALALALALA, you know like you did when you were 5. I laughed and hung up. He hasn't called back since. Call his bluff. This is an obvious scam. It is scary how much info they have though. I almost paid them too. Good luck everyone!!!
Idiots Calling Again
I got a call from these bozos as well left on my voicemail. The guy sounded like he a thick Indian (from India) accent and his voice got forceful and loud when saying that if I didn't call him back that I'd be in legal trouble.
The number this guy left was 718-766-7916. These guys must be the same ones that called months ago that said they were from the United Legal Processing Division which is another bogus outfit. After not answering then they stopped calling and now it looks like these boneheads are back at it.
Threatening legal action right off the bat is a violation of the FDCPA. If you get contacted by them either ignore them or contact the FTC or your state attorney general.
National Affidavit Processing
I feel your pain. I have these people call at least once a day on my cell phone. This has been going on for the last 2 weeks or so. I know that it all started with a default payday loan ---- that I paid back the principal and I am sure they say that i owe more but ---- they are illegal as all get out --- I live in Ohio and will not pay another dime!
Today they said this was their final phone call and they will issue a law suit.
Has anybody had these guys just give up and quit calling? Or do I need to change my cell number?

It's a SCAM, ignore them, if they call again, call the police and fill out a report.

I got a call this Saturday from a guy with an Indian Accent claiming to be with the legal department of NAPS National Affidavit Process Service. He blurted out my SS#, routing and bank acct #, and wanted me to confirm them and I told him to go to hell. I asked him was he trying to collect a debt and he told me yes, but he would never tell me who he was collecting the deft for. He would only tell me that I owed 259.00 for a Payday Loan. I make very good money and never have I ever had to resort to a Payday Loan. He wanted my credit card information and was very adamant that he was going to get paid. I asked him to send me all the particulars via mail to my address that he already had. I told him that I will not converse any further until he proves to me who he is collecting a debt for. He then hung up on me. Approximately one hour later it sounded like the same guy but only a different name this time. This time I informed him that I googled his company and there was nothing positive about it. He hung up again and I have not heard from him since.

This is a FRAUD! I have been harassed by these people (yet at different numbers) since 2006. I had gotten a stupid online payday loan thru a company called "debt doctors" (which is NOT legit) I borrowed $300, paid over $300 back, and they kept tacking on interest. Finally I closed that bank acct they kept taking money out of., I made numerous attempts to contact them to make payment arrangements, but suddenly their 'site' dissapeared. I got calls at work from foreign people harassing me, telling me they are coming to take me to jail, cursing at me, cursing at co-workers and even my boss! They call randomly over the last few years! Its insane! I tried to talk to them the first time, my Dad offered to pay, first they said they would not take credit card, then they said they'd take pay pal, then they said no only banking info. My dad refused. I got a call the next day supposedly from the company who said No, that call was not from them! They call constantly saying the police are coming to get me!! I told them, PLEASE COME DO, I WANT TO GET THIS OVER WITH!!! no one ever does, checked with local police stations, no records of anything for me! I don't like that they have my personal info, but if this was LEGIT, we'd be in court by now!I've paid what I owe, yet they continue to harass., they've even said they were with attorneys offices, law enforecement, and the latest is "national affidavis processing department" they even called my 'references' from my list in 2006! I have contacted the police, State Attorney General, Everyone I could think of, no one could help! Local law enforecement stated because they can do 'internet' phone its almost impossible to track!
Good luck to anyone, and if you find any info on this, please email me at kryseimike@gmail.com. I would LOVE to press harassment charges on whoever is behind all this! I have tried for years to find out!

They even said it maybe a case of identey thieft and they would take care of it if I payed them the money, when I told them I wasn't about to till they sent me some paper work they started yelling at me I calmed him down and politly asked him for some kind of prof agian he started screaming I told him if he didnt calm down he wasn't going to get any money from me( he wasn't anyway) he told me I would be sorry and hung up today I called the FCC and reported them and just for kicks I called them back the guy who called me answered with a differnt name he put me on hold( played a loud musical toy in the phone) then he got back on the line with the first name boy did he get mad when I told him I googled his company name and reported them.

These people must be back because I received a call from National Affidavit Processing threating me with a lawsuit and was told that there was a state investigation on my home. I paniced.... when someone says lawsuit you don't know what to do at that moment. I came home a started searching for this company which all I say was SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. The person on the phone had a heavy sounded like an india accent but not sure. I asked him for the name of the company that was had put in the lawsuit and was told Cash Advance Mutual and I asked them to send me a copy of the lawsuit which was told that he could not send it to me and that I would be better off settling this lawsuit and paying them the money owed. I was stupid and gave them my credit card number which in turn I canceled. Please do not fall for this SCAM as I did but hopefully caught it in time. I would like to know how to stop them from calling family and my place of work so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks.

honestly i never found a way to make them stop. they eventually give up for awhile but the calls do start again after several months. this has been happening to me for years now.

Good for you!! I been harrased the same way through voicemail over 2005 loans that were paid in full through settlement. It is a scam and they try their hardest at intimidating folks with legal jargon and scripts to get money.
IGNORE and move on guys ;)

I received a call on Friday April 2, 2010. The man used the name Steven Smith and informed me I was being recorded, and there were also 6 attorneys listening to my conversation with him. I let him know of the FDCPA, and my rights as a consumer. Then I hung up. He left me a very threatening voice mail telling me I was going to be prosecuted by the state of California, and he was going to notify my employer, as well as freeze my bank accounts. I called the number back, and spoke with a Mark Scott. He would never identify the companies that I supposedly took a loan with. I told him he would have to call back at the end of May because I have no money. I was so angry. I really want to nail these people. I have so many fraud issues with the internet. I had to close my bank account because of unauthorized transactions on my account. It is very scary, and I have no idea how they received our information. I recently discovered that our internet connection (wireless) was not secured. I am really concerned that someone tapped into my internet, and has been able to do all of this stuff. Has anyone had trouble with that too. There are sure a lot of foreign people (India), that are in that business. I am going to demand an english speaking person next time. They even called my Aunt. Can anyone help me? Thanks

They do not go away...
I have also received phone calls from between 9 and 20 in the last 2 months. (Just got another one today). I have hung up on them called there bluff and told them to send the cops out and mail the paperwork. And they still keep calling and harrassing me. I have 6 specific dates and times that they have called and I also have one message saved on my cell phone and I am sending it to the State of Utah (that is where I live) Department of COmmerce Division of Consumer of Protection the paperwork that they want to halp me in this fight but so far from reading everything (and there are many) on the internet about them I am fighting a lost cause. Who knows call your state and see what they can do about it.

These people started calling me multiple times daily including at my work phone number. I haven't returned the calls because I know it is a scam, however, after reading all of this stuff I'm going to have a little fun with them. Little do they know I AM an attorney and i KNOW the FDCPA laws and the court filing process (which everything they have said is completely illegal and most of the times not possible).
