Threats from CRSI
Hello,
I have done some research with credit collections and CRSI. I received a voicemail last night for the first time, saying they need me to return their call or they will have to get my city officials and My state involved to come after me, if I do not return their call. I don't think this is any legal recourse for them to do, but I just want to make sure it isn't, can they legally do this?
Thank you.

No, they can't do anything of this sort to you. Moreover, you should know that according to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), no collection agency can threaten you in order to collect the debt. If they do, they are in violation of FDCPA. You can file a complaint about them with the Federal Trade Commission, and your State Attorney General.
You should also know that they are not supposed to call you before 8 A.M. or after 9 P.M. If they do, this too will be considered a violation. For more details on FDCPA rules you can check http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/fdcpa.html .
