Anyone heard of or dealt with Associated Credit Services?
One rep was willing to accept a partial payment of $300, he asked for my debit cardt #, and even though I was hesitant I gave it to him. This same rep told me to never give anyone my bank acct. info because then that could cause even more trouble for me. He was very ademant about this. He was trying to say he was on my side and he would work with me, that he was a senior rep and he supposedly told me things 'in confidence'...yada, yada, yada.
Fast forward about 3 weeks later, I receive another call from this company now wanting a payment of almost $1,500 to keep this loan out of default. Then this woman asks my why I was trying to make a payment of only $300 when that would not be acceptable. I told her that this other rep was willing to work with me, etc. She said they could not access my debit card, supposedly some mix up, and now I needed to pay them the larger amount. She transfered me to another rep, he was so freaking rude and just plain nasty. He bullied me into giving him my bank acct info threatening me that if I didn't, my loan would automatically go into default.
The more I thought about this, the more I did not feel comfortable about it. I called them and told them not to access my account, I was closing it. He then told me to just Western Union the amount I owed. I told him I did not want to deal with them anymore, I feel they are very dishonest. I realize that was probably a mistake, but ...
Any suggestions, any help is so appreciated.
Thanks, Cheryl

If you are dealing with a CA, you are already in default and for the most part, you will have no option but to work with the CA. Generally once assigned to a CA buy the lender, they will no work with you at all.

Thanks for your suggestions. Yes, unfortunately, I am finding out the hard way just how dangerous private student loans are. I thought I was trying, but now with all the conflicting information I have received from this CA, I just wish I could work with someone else. I just feel like there are too many red flags about this company.
See, and that's another thing, I was told that it wouldn't go to default till sometime after March 9th. Why all the conflicting information from the CA?
Student loans listed as credit cards
My daughter has Stafford loans with Citibank they are listed as credit cards on Equifax. American express denied her a card becuase they say he revolving cards were balance were too high, on the report only Citibank - student loan in deferment until 2010= what should she do. It says on the credit report that the credit maximum limit is $4,00 and the other on is $3,000 and a macy paid up card. what should she do.
