I recently received last chance to pay a direct tv bill originally 98.52...will except 54.19....have fought from day one did not receive local channels...which i paid for repeatedly for months...so feel i do not owe this...do i pay lessor amount and get off credit record...or keep trying to get them to try to understand. Thank you for any help.

I would do a dispute with Direct Tv and copy the better business bureau to it. You want to resolve it to your satisfaction and remove it from reports. Oh,by the way if they get stubborn, their parent company is Hughes Network Systems. Hughes web last time I wandered over there was hns.com. If Direct Tv is difficult involve Hughes in your complaint.

I am withy Steelers on this one pay and get it off your credit report. It can end up costing you alot with negative feedback on your credit report. KYSIDE38

I worked for time warner cable and know a lot about Direct tv... being one of our competitors... they will lock you into that contract and in the fine print on thier website it does say that depending on the packages you get, you may not get your local channels. They have you... now if you are going for a "settlement offer" from them, there is still that amount of money that is left over that the IRS can get you on. I have spoken with lawyers because i am in the same boat with a different company about a settlement. Plus, it lowers your credit score if you take the settlement.
Good luck
