If there is not an Investment Center local to you that has an ADM, they will send out pre-paid envelopes to mail in your deposits.

We realize there are many different investment companies and we appreciate your interest in Fidelity. You are able to simply open a mySmart Cash Account and not be required to open a brokerage account. To learn more and/or set up a mySmart Cash Account, please access the link below. If you’re not yet a Fidelity customer, please download a mail-in application: mySmart Cash Account Individual or Joint registration (PDF). You can just open the account by mail as well without having going through the hassle of opening an brokerage account then opening the checking. Here's the link to the mail-in app so you can just get the smart cash account without opening a brokerage. http://personal.fidelity.com/accounts/pdf/sca_app.pdf If you choose to open online and not through the mail, you will have to open the brokerage account first but you DO NOT have to fund it. http://personal.fidelity.com/accounts/aong...earn.shtml.cvsr If you live near an investment center: -you can print the application, fill it out, and take it to an investment center. This way you get the account number right away. |

You are very welcome. So far it has helped a lot of people especially those that are in areas where there are very few non-chex banks.
Some people get a little confused and believe that you have to have 2500.00 to open an investment account first but you do NOT. You can open the checking without the investment.

That is where I opened my account at. I just received a box of checks and my Visa debit card in the mail. I signed up for it on line. It was very simple and easy

Quick question MCA: Do you think it's a good idea to start a "checking-like" account with an investment group right now...considering our current economy and the daily Wall Street mishaps that are occurring? I just want your input before I apply.

That is a really good question. I am not sure how to really answer it. Fidelity does seem to be doing fine. I know here in Ohio, they have commercials on all day for Fidelity. Since I added Fidelity to my list, I can't tell you how many have got accounts with them. The response is huge but that is only because there are so many states that have limited anounts of banks that are non-chex.
Have you considered any other banks or credit unions? Where exactly do you live?
