I had a loan through MBNA for a computer. It went into collections, and went through quite a few collection companys. I have now paid the debt, and all the other collector's, including the one I paid are still showing up on my credit report wanting money and making my credit report look bad.

Hi Guest,

If you have paid all the debts, then please ask for the latest credit report from the three bureaus. There is a possibility of some mistake in the credit report. If you find a clean credit report after that move, and if the collectors are contacting you, then you can ask them to validate the debts. I am sure there must have been a mistake regarding the entry if you have paid your debt.

Also, please make a photocopy of all the payments and the receipts that you have made so far. They will act as a proof in your case.

Please keep in touch so that we can know the latest.

Thanks with regards
Roxette

This is highly confusing and sad that you are not getting your deserved piece of cake.:? However there is no point losing hope.

You need to get in touch with the credit bureaus immediately and complain about this dispute to them. I'm sure they will take the necessary steps to mend the flaw. Keep in mind to carefully handle all the written documents you have as a proof of the payments you have made. Store them with great care. They can change your financial status in a few seconds.

If this doesn't work, then I suggest you to take the help of an attorney for solving this fraud play against you.

Hope you share your experiences and insights with the other members of the forum. Let us know if we can help you further.

Cheers,
Jason

I agree to a point.

But do it this way, and make all Commuicaitons between you, the CA's and CRA's CMRRR.

Get a fresh copy of your Credit reports, the ones from each CRA and not a tr-merge one from a place ffering cheap CRs, these are mostly good for review, but to work with the CRAs it is better to have a "TRUE" report from them in their format with their file numbers on it.

First opt out using the info in the opt out thread(s) on this site. This prevents Junk Debt Buyers form fishing ouyr file, and it does stop unsolicited Credit offers etc..

then Send a letter to the CRA disputing the Account(s) that are reporting wrong as "NOT MINE", after all if the information is wrong then it cant be yours, yours should be reporting something differently right?.

It is sad that this is the best way to deal with incorrect entries, but the way they handle disputes really offer no alternative. AFTER getting the Green card back (or use the free USPS on line tracking for email alerts for CMRRR mail and know same day it was signed for), Now send a Debt Validaiton letter to the CA who you have challenged with the CRA. (you have not indicated if these CA's have only cvalled you or if n fact you have received a letter(s) from them demanding to eb paid also...this will make a difference for CR purposes in regards to reporting.

Jerry
