I have already cleared up a debt I owed, yet the ca calls me. why?

It's very nice to know that you have got all your debts cleared. However, I will suggest you to have your latest credit report from the three credit bureaus to know the payment dates. If you have already done it, then you can fax the papers to the collection agencies and write a letter to them stating the payment dates and that the debt is cleared. If still they continue to do so, then you can file a case against them on the charge of harassing you and they will be required to compensate you with $1000 if you win.

I am sure that if you use this way, then they won't disturb you. Do let us know after you have done so.
