can creditors take legal action me being in consolidation

I wanted to know that if I enroll in the debt consolidation program, can my creditors take legal action against me?

Thanks
joness

Hi joness

Welcome to the forums. After you enroll in the debt consolidation program, it is most likely that the creditors will not contact you as long as they are receiving your monthly payments through the debt consolidation program. They will stop all the legal action against you or hold the judgments in suspensions if they are getting regular payments through the program.

In dire case, if a creditor may elect to take a legal action against you, you are suggested to follow all the instructions of the court or your attorney after receiving the summon from the court.

Please ensure that all the legal action will be handled by your attorney only, as this site does not provide the legal help arising in a certain case. You will be required to engage with your attorney and get legal assistance from him.
