credit card debt

my nephew stole my gm credit card and it is over 6000 and i was told i would have to pay for it can you email me and give me the ifor about your company

HI Marilyn

Welcome to the forums. First of all, it is very necessary to notify the customer care of the credit card company about the loss of your credit card to prevent any misuse or fraud.

The moment you inform them about the loss of the card, they will de-activate your card and stop all the online transactions for which you will be liable to pay.

Please request the customer care of the company to provide you the financial statement of your account so that you can clear the balance and thereby close it.

After you get the financial statement of the account, you will be required to clear the amount as it will be visible in your credit report and unpaid account will make a bad impact on your credit score. So, you can consolidate all your debts into one monthly amount which will be a lower and affordable sum to pay and at lower rate of interest.

Please don't delay in contacting the credit card company and requesting them to freeze the account and clear the unpaid balance.
