old, old, old debt

Hi. My question is about old debt. I have some outstanding debt (that would be my husband and I) that we have neglected for some time. We didn't forget it totally, but just have not been able to pay them for focusing on our major debt, such as mortgage and car payments, etc. The secured debts. My question is, is there consolidation options for those of us who have not made regular payments? There may be a chance that we may come into some money, and our primary goal would be to pay this old debt off to get the monkey off our back so to speak. It was never our intention to neglect it, just something that sort of happened when my husband got hurt at work, although some of the debt was already there before then. What I am asking is what are my options.

Thanks!
