Have small debt but dont want it to grow.

I have been pretty careless with my Credit Card. I ended up maxing it out in 6 months. Luckily, my credit line was only 1500 but still 1500 is alot of money to pay back. I am a young man, only 20, and I don't want my stupid mistakes at this young age to haunt me for the rest of my life.

What can I do to get my Credit back on track? Who can I talk to? Who can I turn to.

Hi omaralugo

Welcome to the forums. It is appreciated that you are becoming responsible towards your life. Though we all make mistakes in some time or the other, but the most important thing that reflects our maturity is that we should not commit the same mistakes that we have done earlier.

Regarding your credit card debt, the consultant will negotiate with your creditors to reduce or eliminate any sort of financial or late charges on your debt. Doing this, you will be able to see a reduction in the amount of your debt and hence a suitable payment plan will be offered to you in accordance to your present situation. You will be offered to pay the debt in easy monthly installments so that it won't put much pressure on you and your debt will get cleared within a stipulated period of time.

Since you are at a young age and entering into the matured world, I will like to suggest you something which you can keep in your mind to avert any sort of financial problems. Every transaction that you do financially will get reflected in your credit report and it is this financial paper that decides your credit worthiness all through out your life. So whenever you apply for credit, always make sure to pay it at the earliest so that you get a good rating in your credit report. If you face financial problem during some time, it is better to resist from making purchases rather than creating debt with interests and financial fees which keeps roaring higher.

I hope you will realize the importance of my words and make wise and smart financial decisions.

Regards
Roxette

Hi omaralugo

Welcome to the forums.

It's nice to see that you are keen to clear off your debts and you are serious about it. You have to get yourself enrolled in a debt consolidation program. The debt consultant of that company in which you will register has to frame a repayment plan keeping in mind your repayment capacity and after negotiating with the creditors. Once you start paying off your debts your credit score vis a vis your rating will start to improve slowly. As far as I know this site also provides debt consolidation consultancy.

For that you have to fill up the sign up form

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/signup/

Once you are registered a debt consultant of your locality will get in touch with you. Please do not stress yourself out

Hope to hear from you soon

Regards
Peter
