What is equity mortage?

Hi Kathy

Welcome to the forums.

Equity mortgage is the term used to rate the credit worthiness of an individual on the basis of his property.

In simpler words, it is the financing of your home to know your potential financially.

Hello Kathy,
Welcome to the forums.

Equity mortgage is a mode of financing one's home, based on how much equity he has in it. In other words, it is a loan, which you get in return for the value of any asset or property that you own.

It is the valuation of a person's interests in real property (also called real estate) after all the liens and charges have been eliminated.

Hope this answers your question.
Please feel free to return if you have any further queries.

Regards,
Peter :)
