How can I get a past debt off my credit report when I filed Bankrupsy 5 years ago and this company is still on my report as deliquent.

Welcome to the forums. Please try this method to correct the error

  • Please make a copy of your credit report and highlight the items that are considered to be incorrect.

  • Please write a letter to the Credit reporting agency. Explaining each dispute, please request for an investigation to resolve the issue. You can send photocopies to support your dispute.

  • Please make sure that all materials are sent by certified mail, along with return receipts requested, so that there is a valid proof.

    Please send similar letter of dispute to the creditor who is in the report.

    After receiving your letter, the reporting agency will investigate thoroughly, and will contact your creditors to verify the accuracy of the information. After investigation is complete, the agency will send you a free report showing the changes made.

    Please let us know after you have made the move and the result of it.
