FYI

I enrolled in a debt consolidation at the end of last week and I am already getting phone calls from my creditors that I have enrolled in the program. One was last night and there have been about 8 or 9 today. I can tell this is going to get annoying. I can understand them wanting to call and harrass me into paying my debts without debt consolidation and my representative has prepared me for this...I just didn't know it was going to happen so soon.
Anyone newly enrolled into a debt consolidation program, get ready for your phone to start ringing off the hook. I have no intentions of talking with them, I know that much!

Has anyone else experienced this once enrolled into a program?

Thanks!

Kate

Hi kaunkst7

It's good that you have made your positive move to live a debt free life. Through the debt consolidation program, you can get rid of all your debts and thus improve your credit report.

I am sure that with the active co-operation of the representative, your life will take a good shape free from all the debts.

Please let us know if there is anything further that we can do from our side.

Regards
Roxette

Hi Kaunkst7,
Welcome to the forums.

It is good to see that you have enrolled in a debt consolidation program and making positive efforts to clear your debts.

As you have been recieving harassing calls from your creditors, please take the help of your debt consolidation company in which you have enrolled. Ask them for the legal steps you can take, against these creditors. As far as I know, the fdcpa has clearly mentioned that if any debtor receives a harassing call from either the creditor or the collection agency, then he or she has the right to complain against that creditors or collection agency.

You can also lodge a complaint in the local police station or else even at the FTC. They will take care of things. So please do not be anxious about this.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,
Peter
