800-214-8742 - Has anyone worked with Paragon way inc?

I am new here and was wondering if anyone has ever heard of Paragon Way/TXCollect? I took out one of those payday loans years ago back in 05/2003 and all of a sudden without any notice, letters, contact this collection showed up. The original creditor is Bank of Delaware. Any one every had any contact with any of these companies? My understanding is Paragon Way is located in Texas.

I want to dispute this account all together because they are reporting this incorrectly and it looks as if I just went out and did this.

Any suggestions?

If you took that money out, and did not pay it, you still owe it. Your debt was purchased and now you owe the money to someone else. Now if you have proof of payment you can dispute your acct.

Does anyone have an email address for Paragon Way Inc? They are on my credit report as the collection agency for a store-front pdl (Advance America Cash Advance) I would have taken out back in 2000 or 2001. I'd like to email a DV letter to Paragon. My credit report lists them in TX, and I was able to get an 800# from this website, but I would like an email address.

My homeloan officer who is helping me get credit-worthy enough to purchase my 1st home, told me to pay this debt off along with several others. The thing is, Paragon is scheduled to continue on record only until Aug 2008. My loan guy is having me pay off the collections that are within the last 2 years, but he added this one to my payoff list.

Any thoughts? And an email if it's advised to email them about the debt?

They cannot validate anything, and will NOT send you a settlement letter. If the current creditor is showing as Collins Receivables, LLC, guess what? Same owner as that of Paragon Way (Gary Wood). If they refuse to validate, take them to Small Claims. Trust me, the minute they get the papers, they will take it off your credit.

gizmocruz-thanks for your input. My credit report doesn't show Collins Receivables, LLC as the CA, only Paragon Way Inc. I know that one of the co-owners, Gary Wood, does also own Collins Receivables, LLC.

I still would love input on this from others. Should I try to get an email address to email a DV letter, or should I mail one to the Ben White Blvd address listed on my credit report?

Does anyone know the status of mike otr's (from his 8/4 posting above) DV letter?

Does anyone know if people have been successful in getting Paragon to comply with DV letter requests? My original debt, a store-front pdl place called Advance America, is really old. I may have received the loan in 2001, but most likely in 2000!I got the loan when I was living in California, and I'm not sure if that state has a 7 year statute of limitations or what.

They are not professional, they do not negiotiate. This account just showed up on my husband credit report. When you want to pay them off with a credit or debit card they say you have to pay 5.00 on each hundred you pay. This is a poor excuse of a company. The first voices you get are pleasant when they transferr you to Richard just hang up he is not a people person or a negioator.

Call your local civil court and ask them how to file a Motion to Vacate the judgement due to Improper Service (since you did not receive a summons).

To the one getting the calls,
Send them a Cease & Desist letter. File complaints with the FTC, the FCC, your state Attorney General, the Bureau of Consumer Affairs, etc.

Greg,
While it's a waste of keystrokes, be glad that you are fortunate enough to have the money to pay your bills. You will not be so smug when you are in the unemployment line....
