Nationwide Credit

My mother received a call from someone at Nationwide Credit. He apparently pulled her credit report and named two credit cards she could use to pay him and his company. I called and spoke with the receptionist requesting the address and this is what she gave me:

Nationwide Credit Inc.
2015 Vaughn Road
Building 400
Kennesaw, Georgia 30144

First, is this a legitimate address for this company? I want to send a debt validation letter and request that communications be in writing only for this company, but the way the "receptionist" was hemming and hawing when she gave me the address (plus having to "check on the account" first before she'd give me the address), I'm suspicious. The address she gave me is in Georgia, but she admitted that she is in California!

If anyone has any information on Nationwide Credit, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Lisa

Hi Lisa

Look into the telephone index of your state and confirm the company address. I have not been able to locate their contact information online. Sending a debt validation letter is a must for knowing the company they are collecting for. If the name of the company is known to you, try to get in touch with them directly and work out arrangements.

By accident I overpaid the creditor that Nationwide had been calling and harassing me about. I overpaid them almost $100. Its been over 60 days and I have yet to receive my overpayment. Each time I call, I am placed on hold for several minutes, when they finally answer, they know WHO I am and WHY I am calling before I even tell them. They told me a check was placed in the mail back in June.....hmmmmm somebody is not telling the truth. After several attempts to contact them or speak with a manager (Which everybody seems to be)I have now been told that the account is with Nationwide in Georgia. AND....the number that they gave me is NOT the same as on the internet,or their homepage. I WANT MY MONEY!!!! Gas is too expensive.

There is alot of crooks out there...these people keep calling me too. I know what bills i have and i dont need them calling me asking for money. I think these collection agencys are regular people working out of their homes, online, for the credit card companies...and they get a commission from the payments they get on the accounts. I am not dealing with any phone calls from numbers i do not know.
They will send you a certified letter from the usps if they really want to get to you.
Hagd!
