I know I already paid off my debt but a credit bureau still lists it as uncollected. When is the 7th year limitation going to occur?

Hi Pablo G. Baldazo

Welcome to the forums. Which credit bureau is reporting the error? Have you checked the report from the other two bureaus?

If both of the other bureaus are not reporting anything about this entry, you have the right to dispute with the concerned bureau requesting for rectification of particular entry you believe to be inaccurate. The agency will re-investigate the details of the entry in question.

The credit bureaus are required to respond to your challenge within 30 days as per the FCRA. Please send your correspondences through certified mail with return receipt requested and keep all the copies of your correspondence intact.

Hopefully, your wrong entry will be deleted from your credit report. We would like to hear from you after you have done the needful.

Hi Pablo G.Baldazo

Welcome to the forums.

You should immediately consult the credit bureau and ask them to update their records or else you may dispute with them if they do not agree to do so. Please keep all your documents showing your cleared status. Further you may also verify it with other credit bureaus. If they give you a clear status then please ask them to send you a copy of that.

Hope to hear from you soon

Regards
Peter
