So I got transumion, Exqifax, and Experian to to put the account in dispute which is good. So the next Month I look and AAC put a new collections record on my credit report under a diffrent company name and chnage the ammount by $1 and now there is a new open date for 2005. So now I have to collections for the same debt even though the orignal debt was made in 1994 and was claimed in BK in 1996. They are relentless. The FCRA does not protect anyone from this trick. Apparently a collections company could have different names underneath the company, I found this out from a friend that does collections. The coompany name is called S&P. It is punishment for me claiming the debt is in dispute. This could go on for years. I am in the middle of buying a house and I cannot prove that is the same debt since it is off by $1. The bank is assuming I had two diffrent accounts with the orginal store becuase S&P is not putting an account number down.

The are out toruin my credit by any means possible. The original store got paid throught the ch 13 BK this is insane

Hi giveu2tictacs

Welcome to the forums. It is possible in case of collection agency that they change or pass on the debt to other collection agency when they are unable to recover a particular debt. But as you said that you have already paid this debt, they need to validate it first before recovering it. If they do not do so, their action is against the consumer protection afforded by the fdcpa Section 809 (b). You can consult your attorney and sue them up to $1,000.

If possible, you can also contact the lender to verify for this debt. Please do the needful immediately as it is hampering your credit report and that you are planning to buy a house also.

If possible, you can also contact the FTC at 1-877-382-4357 and report them of this action.

Hi giveu2tictacs

Welcome to forums.

Your original debt was made in 1994. In 1996 you paid off your debts through chapter 13 bankruptcy. You should immediately contact Federal Trade Commission with all the documents substantiating your claim.
Further you should consult an attorney who will advise you all the possible ways to deal with this problem.

Apart from this you should write to CCCS (Consumer credit counseling Services) in detail and ask them to take any possible ways to deal with this problem you are currently facing.

Hope you will definitely find some way out.
Wishing you luck

Regards
Peter
