Call From Cashnet500

I got a called at work from someone at Cashnet500. He was calling of course about my delinquent account. I have recently started dealing with T&C as of last week. I told him that a company will be contacting him to handle this debt for me and he basically blew me off. He stated that they do not deal with consumer counseling services and if they call they are gonna tell them the same thing he is telling me. Then he tells me that they are probably paying my credit card debt for me. I advised him I do not have credit cards and that I am aware of what I am doing. He basically just said the collection calls are not gonna stop and that they are gonna continue to call me to collect there money until it is paid. Can anyone advise me on this?

You should let T&C know of Cashnet500's calls and let the counselor take care of it.

Or you can contact Cashnet500 and work out some kind of arrangement that you can afford if they refuse to deal with the consolidation company.

Maybe someone else here has a better advice since I am just starting to deal with the payday lenders myself. I called T&C but decided to give it a shot on my own to see if I can work out better arrangments. I am keepin the T&C option open in case I got in way over my head and need help.

Cashnet500 will keep calling you, mostly at work though.
When I had a loan from them, after I had shut down my checking account, they called my job even asked to speak to the supervisor Stating I owed them monies and I was "wanted" for "Legal problems." They did work out a payment plan with me that was manageable, however their approach is very deceitful. For instance; calling my place of employment reeming out the secretary looking for information, and telling my employer my business, then calling me at home 2 minutes later to work out payment plans.

Cashnet500 will try to harass if they don't get their money back. They use unfair collection techniques on everyone. My suggestion is to send a partial payment towards the account so that you assure them taking care of the account. They will sound not to accept your proposal at the beginning. Send your payment through certified mail for proof. The company will stop their activities after they get money towards the account regularly.

This company has an unsatisfactory record with the BBB for unauthorized debits as well as other reasons.
You can send them a letter stating not to contact you at work via certified mail with return receipt requested. This way you will have proof that they received the correspondence. You might have to try a couple of times because they refused the first letter that I sent them. You can also fax it to them to be on the safe side as well. We understand that you are trying to pay your debt but there is no need for continous calls at work and to harass your co-workers.

I worked out a settlment with them to pay $150 on the 15th of June, just to be done with it, and they were to cease all calls and close the account when the money was received. But they still continue to call me at home and work never leaving messages.

This place is bush league all the way. When ( and now if ) I do pay them then how do I know that they will even record it as being received?

What really cheeses me off is the fact that they waited almost 6 months to contact me. And now they cannot seem to stop.

I settled with them for $150 which is what my balance was as of 6 months ago minus fees and interest. This place ended up being the easiest one that I had to deal with.

And that was my last outstanding PDL. I am done.

Thanks Sue. Actually I thought Cashnet and PaydayToday forgot about me but I was not so luckly. Now they are paid and done. It is nice. Now when the phone rings at work I do not have to worry about it.

I could have disputed and sent out cease and dissest letters but it all boils down to what its worth to you. If you can negotiate a decent settlment then its going to save a lot of stress.

I agree completely! We have one that we've been paying on and now they've contacted us on a settlement and I think if I can get them to agree with what I want to agree on I'm going to settle it. It's just not worth my time to fight about some of them (others I will) - I know we borrowed and I want to pay back at least what we borrowed. I'll be SO glad when it's all paid off!!

Sue - they claimed that I had paid $650 on a $350 loan and offered a $150 settlement, hope that helps.

I swear that I had paid more than $650 but do not have any of my checking acct info from the period of Oct-Jan when I had this loan. They could be right.

Just stay in contact, keep offering what you want and emphasis that you are not in a great position financially at the present time not will be for a few months.

PLA - thanks. I would still like to work on getting all PDL's shut down. Not one or 2 but the whole lot. It bothers me that probably thousands of people a day are going through what I had to.

kscornell. Not to judge but most here who have defaulted had paid way more than the amount they took out. When I defaulted I had already paid almost 3 times the original amount. There are cases of members paying way more than that.

I had something like that happen to me with cash net. I started paying them and then i signed up with T and C and when they started calling me at work, i told them they needed to speak with T and C. they said they didn't work with companies like that and hung up on me. Eventually they stopped calling but they have accepted my proposal for t and C so soon i will be debt free!

Glynnie...I agree
I have a feeling that some people are beginning to take out PDL's and then immediately get them consolidated...that is abuse in itself, and will most likely only make things worse for the rest of us who are genuinely trying to become debt free. I had paid at least twice what I owed on every single PDL i had before I consolidated...

seeing - yes. Not to judge but people like that are the ones PDL's love to reference.

I don't what happened with ks that resulted in a default before the 1st payment. Whatever it is you should at least return what you borrowed or it is stealing. Actually getting off with $500 is pretty cheap compared to what most end up paying.

Hi everyone. My name is Ray, from Utica, NY. I will be visiting Poland soon, and I am hoping to meet my Polish relatives. I also hope some people from here may help me in contacting my relatives before my visit. Thanks and looking forward to meeting some great people on here!
