private loan consolidation? Credit card consolidation?

Hello! I have a question about loans. I currently have a student loan (private, my stafford loans are consolidated but no one would consolidate the private w/ it), and I want to get a fixed rate on it, as the rate has gone up almost 3% in the past year with no signs of relief. I pay the most on this loan to try to get it down the quickest, and I can afford it fine, but I'd really not want it to go up any more. I also have a small amount of credit card debt (less than 2000) that I'd be interested in consolidating w/ the private loan. Is there any way I can do this? Any products out there for this? Thanks for the help.

tricia.

Hi Tricia

Consolidation program will offer you lower interest rates and most of the financial charges/late fees will be waived off.

Shop for some companies online that can offer their competitive quotes. You can also try for counseling in this website. Someone in your area will call you back. You will find some options with your counselor

You can fill up the short sign up form for the consultant to call you back.

I don't have any late fees and what do you mean by 'financial charges'? I have not defaulted at all, as I said I've paid them every month since they came due. Can I consolidate this debt even if I don't have any coladeral? I'm not that worried about the credit card as I should be able to pay it off by the end of the year, but if I need something else to 'consolidate' with, this would be it.

It's good that you have been current with your bills. I felt behind in my payments and therefore put in the consolidation program. You won't have worries in this matter. You also don't need to put any collateral while taking the program. Loans have such requirements. Take a free counseling and your consultant will work out your payment plans. A counselor will get back to you after you have done the sign up
