If i have debt/charges on my credit report that are in a charge off status can I still consolidat those and pay them off?

Hi nikki052980

Welcome to the forums. I read your post and we will try to make your credit report perfect. As per your query, most unsecured debts are included in the debt consolidation program such as the credit card debts, unsecured personal loans, charged off accounts and collection agencies. However, secured loans such as car loans or mortgages are not consolidated in this program.

You can pay your charged off accounts shown in your credit report through the debt consolidation program. After the accounts are paid in full, the creditors report to the bureaus and it will get dropped from your credit report.

Please feel free to get any other queries answered in the forums.

Hi nikki,
Welcome to the forums.

I went through you query. What I believe nikki, is that since your debt/charges are in a charge off status so already R-9 is on your credit report. Hence, you should definitely go for a debt consolidation program and pay off your debts as quickly as possible. Do not delay any further.

Please call the customer care dept of this site who I am sure will help you a lot. The toll free number is 877-NO-DEBT-8.

Alternatively, you can also fill up the sign up form that is provided by this site and become a free member.

Hope to hear from you soon

Regards,
Peter

Hi: I have a negative item on my report that is listed as Paid,Closed/Account charged off. $[$ amt] written off. This was something that I paid within the timelines they gave me, but the creditor is refusing to take it off of my credit report? Can I do anything about this?

Kansas

Peter mentioned the number that this company was using in earlier days. I saw his post made on 05.30.05.

Presently, the number to call for a free counseling is placed at the blue box at the left hand side. It's 800-601-1579. I used this number to get in touch with their customer care representative.
