Equifax results-success!!!
here goes everything.
I filed with Equifax on line and started investigations on several collection accounts I was not aware of and this is the result:
1- WE HAVE SEARCHED THE COLLECTION ACCOUNT. ACCOUNT# 4XXXXX THE RESULTS ARE: This item has been deleted from the credit file
2- Same for account# 1xxxxxxxxx
3- same for account#Pacific B-xxxxxxx
4-same for account LVJxxx
now for the one that was improperly stated as charged off but was paid in full as agreed
1- the status of this item had been updated to read
pay as agreed $0.00 balance owed
Now I had previously received a call from a collection agency that stated I had an old debt they were collecting on. When I stated that the debt was out of SOL they promised to take this off my credit as a collection item and THEY DID!!!!!!!
I still have some disputed items but all in all for only 30 days of waiting I am not only surprised but very happy with the outcome. My score went up 80
points!!!!!!!
Good for you! I'm glad you were able to get those removed.

Congratulations, you are the exception rather than the rule.
I have filed suits against creditors for continuing to post inaccurate information on credit reports and refusing to get it changed.
I believe there is a class action lawsuit lurking in the credit reporting industry as the creditors point the finger at the reporting agenceis and the reporting agencies point the finger at the creditors.
Most of my clients who retain my services in regards to credit reports have tried simply contesting with the credit bureaus to no avail.
Even after threatening lawsuits, changes were not made until I had filed and served both companies.
It's a mess.

Hi RichardABrennan
There are fdcpa laws that restrict the creditors or the credit bureaus to post inaccurate information in your credit file. Once you have all the details proving the account to be inaccurate, it must be removed from your file unless they are facts to contest your dispute.
You must hire an attorney who specializes in the lawsuits of FDCPA and FCRA violations.

kalevala,
Your success gives me motivation to continue on this tedious quest to improve my credit. I applaud your tenacity and hard work!

I have also had good luck with Equifax. The incorrect credit information on my report was scarier than the report itself. I disputed both with Equifax and with the credit company reporting the "unpaid" amount. It was resolved within a few weeks and deleted from my report. I was SHOCKED. Everyone warns me that it takes forever, but this one did not. Of course, I will always expect things like to that take longer than it did. If your dispute is valid and there is information out there to back it up, I can't imagine things to take too long.
