Another Payday Loan Update

Hi folks,

I received a fax from the company who turned my account over to United Legal a few weeks ago. They have closed my account and no balance is showing. They also stated they showed that United Legal is showing the account closed and no negative information has been reported on my credit reports since they could not validate the debt. Now, I have a new one to file complaints against after the voice mail he left me. Hmm, could this be used as evidence against them? I'm trying to get through to my debt consolidation company to get all the info from them to include on my complaint. :D

Mishele, what is the reason you are going to file complaint against them? Have they harassed you over phone? Yes, recorded conversation can be produced as evidence, if your state allows one party consent. Keep us posted.

Yes, this guy left a harassing message on my cell phone. Here we go with fraud again. He didn't seem to like the fact that I asked for an itemized statement of my account since he would not provide one to T & C. I sent the info via certified mail with return receipt request and also by fax today. He said he was going to turn me over to collections and that I had committed fraud, blah, blah, blah. I think I irked him a bit but I'm not going to stand down. If they are not licensed in Ohio, then are not allowed to do business with any Ohio consumer. I asked for the license information and he basiscally stated to BLEEP OFF! So yes, I'm waiting on the paper work for T & C and another round of complaints are going against this company. I'm also going to check to see if they are even licensed in their state. These payday loan companies don't seem to think that it's important to follow laws and I'm just sick of it. I had another lady respond to an e-mail I had sent and said I was a thief. Hmmm, they've received payments through my debt consolidation company and they agreed to the terms. Yet, they are not licensed either and keep hitting me with outrageous fees. I think I struck another nerve. I'm going to keep on keeping on folks. I feel like I'm hitting new territory.

Does T & C deal strictly with payday loans or do they also do other debts? I am starting to go with Hess Kennedy. Which is better? and what is the phone number for T & C or do they have website?

Well, I talked to one of the "principle" owners on my lunch hour. He called me on my cell phone and I was dingy enough to answer it. Boy, what a jerk! I did find out some more useful information while he was contradicting himself. He doesn't think states are banning payday loans for a reason and he doesn't need to be licensed to do business. Hmmm, I guess state laws mean nothing to him. I finally just hung up on him because the conversation was going nowhere. I think he just wanted to hear himself talk. He threatened to turn me over to collections. Be my guest! I'm going to see this company shut down because I have a feeling they are not licensed anywhere.

Keep up the good work Mishele. Payday loan co's are one of the many trolls who have slipped through the Internet.

Unfortunetly they must use these hostile tactics because they work on the majority of people not informed and not aware that they are dealing with a company with no legal recourse. I can't believe how many times I read in here that these guys are using the check fraud line on.

I will keep on keeping on, Glynnie. Again thank you! I'm going to check with the states of Delaware and Kansas to see if this company is licensed there. I think he may have given me a false address in Delaware. I wouldn't be surprised because the guy was very smug with me on the phone. I'm going to get em' LOL!

Toni,

That is a great point and a lot of the reason why I go after these companies so hard. I don't want someone else having to go through the same situation as me. Maybe they can learn from my mistakes or learn from my experiences if they are currently going through the payday loan cycle. I know how frightening and upsetting it can be. It's nice to be able to sleep at night.
