What is the zero payment plan in bankruptcy?

In a zero payment plan in bankruptcy, you don't pay a dime for the non priority unsecured debts like personal loans, medical bills, and credit card bills. You just have to make monthly payments on your home, car, and any arrearages during the three- to five-year repayment plan in Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Also, you need to pay off your priority debts, like tax, domestic support, etc.

In this process, you will be asked to make a certain payments every month for a certain time (3-5 years). However, why are you considering bankruptcy? How much is your total debts?
