I think you can get rid of both secured and unsecured debts by filing bankruptcy. However, you should seek help from a bankruptcy attorney to know which chapter will be best for you.

You can file bankruptcy for both secured and credit cards. For mortgage, it's best to file Chapter 13 bankruptcy since it offers lien stripping. You can pay off both secured and unsecured debts through Chapter 13 bankruptcy in 60 months. If you need more time, then file Chapter 11 bankruptcy (especially in case of mortgage) where you can pay off debt in 30 years.

You may opt for Chapter 13 bankruptcy since it can provide the lien stripping option. agree with NIck, you can file bankruptcy for both secured and credit cards.
