Hospital Debt

Collection agency is after me for a hospital bill that is 16,000 which is from 2017. Is there any way to get them to agree to a settlement of less than half and get the agreement in writing?

Yes. You can negotiate with the collection agency to reduce the hospital bill amount. Inform the CA that you can't pay the full amount due to acute financial problems. That might do the trick.
