Budgeting 50-20-30 rule - Can it be altered if required for a month?

Budgeting 50-20-30 rule - I have heard about it. My question is - can I alter this ratio, if required, in any month?

It is better to follow it every month as it'll help you save a decent amount every month. However, if it's required, you can follow another budgeting strategy for a couple of months. But, try to get back as fast as you can.

How do you want to alter the ratio? Why do you want the ratio? I would ask you to not change the ratio. If you really want to change the ratio, then try to dedicate 30% of your income toward savings.
