Can debt settlement stop garnishment - Does anyone know?
I have some credit cards to settle. The outstanding amount is quite high. So, thinking of going for prossional help to settle - repay less and get rid of the account. But, can It help stop wage garnishment, if the creditor starts any such things?

You do not need a professional to settle a debt with a creditor......you can do it yourself. In order to garnish you, they need a judgment first. Have they done this? Has a garnishment started?

Yes, debt settlement can stop garnishment but it might be too late if they already started the process. I have only had wage garnishment for a short time before I quit my job. If you quit your job, they cannot take your money because you are not making it. It is best to settle the debt directly with the creditor. I am on a journey to do that in 2017.
