How long do I have to wait before I can file a Chapter 13 after Chapter 7?


One of my friends got discharge from Chatper 7 Bankruptcy 7 years back. However, she is currently experiencing some financial issues. Cabn she take help of Chatper 13 Bankruptcy?


Hi Norman,
One is eligible to file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy at least 4 years after the initial filing date of the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.
Since your friend got discharged 7 years back, he/she is eligible to file a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.
