Paying Chp 7 Fillling Fee In Installments
I am paying a BK preparer to do my Chp 7 bankruptcy. My questions is, if I pay the filling fee in installments, does that give me immediate protection from creditors? Also, do they give you a case number when you setup the installment payments or do I have to pay the filling fee off first?
Paul thanks for the response.
Paul thanks for the response. I didnt make my thought clear. Im not paying a lawyer. I am paying a petition preparer. Therefore, I have to pay the filling fee directly to the court. With that in mind, what do you think of my original questions?
I can help with this -- When
I can help with this -- When you go in to file is when you get your case number and you are automatically protected, when you file you are also submitting the paper work to have your filing fee split into payments, it takes a little while for that to come back as approved, you will make your payments usually in 4 payments and in the mean time you will do all the rest like have your meeting of creditors, etc.. When you pay your last payment on the payment plan for your filing fee the judge will completely discharge your debt and you will be all done.. Attorneys are not going to give you anything to give your creditors.. when you file the BK court will give you a case number to give if people are calling you.. make sure you keep a copy of everything you submit to the BK court, have seen things get lost.
