No more lawyer tricks!!!!
OMG have any of you seen this????
http://www.dallasnews.com/investigations/watchdog/20130824-watchdog-lawyers-will-no-longer-have-the-upper-hand-in-the-new-texas-small-claims-court-system.ece
Basically in 'small claims' cases, which incidentally there are no more small claims courts, now it is justice court and
A state law passed in 2011 makes it clear how the new consumer court is supposed to work: “The hearing is informal, with the sole objective being to dispense speedy justice between the parties,” the law states. The rules may not be “so complex that a reasonable person without legal training would have difficulty understanding or applying the rules.”
No more can seedy lawyers trip up a consumer representing themselves with complex legalese and book jargon!!!!
This is INCREDIBLE!!! Also, judges may now ask questions in the interest of seeing justice done!!! So if a pro se litigant does something slightly wrong, the judge can point it our, or ask a pertinent question to allow the pro se litigant to get his/her point across!!!
This makes Texas even BETTER to sue these monster debt collectors who can no longer hide behind creepy lawyers!!! OR when you are sued by a debt collector!!!!
I am stoked. :)
