VIP Loan Shop -- Help!

Hello,

I took out a loan from VIP LOAN SHOP for 400. They have debited 420 from my account so far and they tell me these were only interest payments and I still owe them 400 more dollars. I live in Illinois and this seems completely illegal to me. Has anyone dealt with these people?

Feeding you a bunch of BS. Debts are civil, not criminal. You cannot be prosecuted. Ignore the calls. If they persist, contact your state's AG and FTC.

So I like many here took the desperate leap into a payday loan to help me out of a bad situation only to get into a worse one. I stopped paying (after paying the principal) changed my bank acct, and requested validation of debt. VIP never sent me one. I hadn't actually heard much from them at all but...now I get calls from "United Recovery" saying that unless I pay they are taking me to court. I ask for the validation of debt and not admit anything to them and they put me on hold and get the "manager". So after I spoke to them yesterday, they call my husband. They do not say that they are with "united" but explain all about the debt to him and that if I don't pay that I will go to court. Can they actually send me to court? I told them I want something in writing. They said once I arrange a payment that they can send me something, really??? Come on I know Im not the brightest but they are threatening to sue me and yet I've gotten nothing in writing. VIP said they did try to send me something. Ive never gotten anything in writing. Any advice???

After almost a year dealing with these people, they obviously sold the account to some scum bags now calling themselves Mariner and Associates. For weeks they've been calling frm blocked or private numbers and leaving no messages. They are now calling my WORK and they stated that I will be served with papers today at noon and I will need to provide 2 forms of ID and they will need to speak with my supervisor. I've been offering to pay what I borrowed and they refused to give me a physical address for me to send money orders. I'm just tired of harrassing phone calls and now calling my job is the last straw. Can they actually come to my job and serve me even though they've never even wanted to send me a debt validation letter? I'm in Minnesota and the address I get from the internet is in West Indies. All my research says that they're illegal lenders in my state, but it scares me that they might come to my workplace. Any advice?
