Dept of Ed/CTi
I have been on a repayment plan with CTi -- this was a plan designed to bring my accounts current, then I was to be placed with a different lender.
I completed my 9th payment with CTi in December, and have been waiting to be placed with a new lender since then.
I have called the Department of Education on two separate occasions, only to be told that they have no record of my account.
I have now recieved a bill (for two months of payments!) from the Dept of Ed, but when I called their number 1-800-621-3115 I get a recorded message saying they can't take my call at this time and I get hung up on.
The Customer Service Rep from CTi says that I have not been placed with a lender yet, so not to worry about any bills I get from the Dept of Education.
This sounds totally fishy to me!
I've been making payments with them, and now all of a sudden they're telling me NOT to, and I can't get ahold of anyone at the Department of Education?
What should I do? Is there anyone I can call?
I understand being in transit, but the CSR said it could take up to three months to be placed with a new lender.

If you want to get a hold of
If you want to get a hold of someone at DOE hit 0 to get a live operator otherwise its all automated. They are having a lot of phone calls now so keep trying. You did the Rehab program and the new lender should send you paper work within 2 weeks of it funding but this can take time. There are 4 different lenders and loans fund weekly.
