Dell Account-Statute of limitations

Total charge off amount-$2500
Paid towards balance-$1000 via FRS (collection agency)
I offered a final payment of $125, to clear the account! FRS sent the account back to ARS-Dell’s (in house collections department). I called ARS, offered another $125, they “said no†(such a shock). ARS offered $780! One final payment or extended to 90-days, and the payments broken up for 3-months.
My question is should take offer? Or just ride the storm? I know Dell is famous for taking folks to court! My last payment with FRS, just in August-2012?

It will help to clarify - 6 years for written contracts, 4 years for oral contract.

FRS returned the account to Dell's own private collection department.
Dell wants another $780 to settle the account. Almost $1400 is fees.
Not sure how to proceed!
Dell is difficult to deal with, collectors are clueless, disrespectful....

yes
by paying on the account you did reset the SOL.so try and work out the settlement and get it in writing.btw chargeoff doesn't mean the same as date of last payment/first delinquency.totally different.
