violation of the Fair Debt Collections Act

This company has violated the Fair Debt Collections Act as well as many other things, including laws.

Initially the misrepresented themselves, telling me they were with a corporation. Then they refused to send me a statement of what I owed or why I owed it. They call me at all hours. Where I lived at the time, they called every apartment in my building and gave them my financial and personal information in my credit report. They call me at all hours even after being sent a letter stating not to call me and that if they cannot validate the amount owed they must forfeit collection. They called my mother in NJ two days after she had heart surgery and told her they were going to stop my student loans and student financial aid as well.

I did some digging on the internet, too... I found and validated a few of their other tactics, like running credit reports on you from a "shadow agency" repeatedly to lower your credit score until you are willing to pay.

I think NCO Financial Group is the one they are using now.

If anyone gets a call from these people, refuse to talk to them on the phone. Make them send you all correspondence in writing. If you do not believe it's a valid debt, dispute it in writing and make them prove you owe it.

This is the only place to complain that will do any good .. Record all calls and File a Lawsuit , with a good recording any attorney will file for Free .. because they know they will be paid ..

I got a message on my answering machine from these guys today saying that it's "very imperative" that I or my attorney or someone named Kenneth (no idea who they're talking about) call them - the message was a little hard to understand, and the only thing I could get out of it was the words "county Post Office." Since I not only pay all my bills, but also usually pay them well in advance of the due date, I have no idea why I was called by these people. I'm going to assume that, if their reason for calling me is legitimate, they'll actually send me something in the mail as well. I hope to never talk to them on the phone, since it sounds like they're masters at scare tactics.

These scum called me today and I don't owe anyone anything. He said they were trying to reach a neighbor and gave me the address. When I told him I don't know most of my neighbors (4 times) he got annoyed and got very rude. I asked his name and company and he told me the phone number was (888)"Grow Some Balls" and then hung up on me. I looked them up, saw all the complaints and filed an online complaint with the FTC.
