Account Dated this year?

As I was checking my credit report Midland Funding LLC had popped up and it was brought to my attention they are trying to come after me for $1,508.00 and it says the account was opened on 5/1/2012? If I am thinking correctly, it is for a TMobile bill from 2009...why is it saying that the account was opened this year?
They have re-aged it...dispute it with the credit bureaus.
