What documents do we require in order to settle a debt with the help of a debt settlement company..?? As in limited power of attorney, settlement letter, agreement letter,etc.. Anythin else other than that?? And what are their uses..??

Personally, I wouldnt waste money on a debt settlement company. Do it yourself and save a ton of cash. All it takes is a little research.

I agree with everyone else. I tried that route and it did not work. The phone calls were endless because you stop paying everyone and the company does not try to contact your creditors until there is enough funds to settle. As a result the companies continue to send collection mail .

I got out of the program and contacted the credit card companies myself. They are working with me to try to get my accounts brought up to date, but it is probably going to take me at least 6 months to become current with everyone.

My advice is call the creditors yourself and try to work something out. Good Luck.
