payday loan help

hi, i have been in payday loan hell for almost 2 years now, i have about 1500 out in the loans and can barely afford the interest charges that accrue weekly. i live in NY and have recently found that these are not legal in my state i have attempted to contact my attorney general who did not respond as well as a few lawyers who said they do not handle PDL's. i have read knline that i should close bank accounts and write letters to them but i do not want them harrassing my work. if they call me thats fine because i do want to pay the money back actually with finance charges i have paid back alot more than thr principal i recieved. what should/can i do
