if I apply for a program to consolidate will my credit be affected in any way?

If you're talking about enrolling in a debt management plan, yes. Your credit will be negatively affected.

Yeah???debt consolidation will hurt your credit score. You may try to negotiate with your creditors and set up a payment arrangement with them.
