Disable and in over my head

I was working and then laid off due the closing of my plant . I went to school and was doing quite well, then I became disable. Now I am over my head in over 70,000 in debt. Someone told me I finical aide would help for me to pay to go backrupt. I need to know if this possible or what I need to do.
