In my opinion, the company is not all that reputable. As per the BBB, the company has had 14 complaints in the last 3 years and 12 were resolved in the last 6 months but not reported by the client. There are also 2 cases where the problem was resolved but the client found the resolution to be bad/insufficient.
It's a legit organization
ClearPoint is definitely a legitimate, non-profit debt management organization. The NFCC verifies it and it's probably one of the most reputable credit counseling agencies out there. It's been around since somewhere around 1980, so 32 years.
Doing fine with me
I realize this is an older thread but I thought I would add that I've been with Clearpoint for about 18 months. They were able to get all accounts re-aged and reduce interest rates on everything but a couple Capital One accounts. Cap One refused any type of reasonable payment. Still paying one CapOne account through Clearpoint even though the proposal wasn't officially accepted.
The other CapOne account ended up with Litow and Pech (law firm) and I make the same payments to them that were porposed to Cap One.
I had enough credit card debt that Clearpoint isn't even charging me anything monthly.
Some of the smaller accounts are about paid off and those payment amounts will be added to the bigger accounts with higher balances.
