kudos to ohiogal

That really pissed me off. I mean, the fake money order/cashier's check is a pretty typical scam that's been running for years but:

- I assume most people have heard about it by now.
- Most banks can spot fakes now.
- Craig'sList warns people about this very thing.
- When the questions changed from "what do I do?" to "what if I do this?" it made me pretty suspicious.
- When the new post showed up asking about being able to make purchases even when your account shows a negative balance or you don't have money in the account, that was the final straw.

I hope he/she does try to purchase something. Because, since notification of the fraudulent deposit has already been communicated, any further attempts at withdrawing money or making purchases is only going to give the bank ammo for a fraud case.

when i saw the thread about making the purchaes i would have done exactly what you did.i just would not have been as nice in my posts stating the threads were locked.
